I uninstalled it from Control Panel, but the annoying pop-up still remains. How do I get rid of it?

R
Answer by Robert Polubinski

The software installs all kind of pop-ups and add-ons for your browsers and Windows. To remove it, simply run a copy of AdwCleaner. You can download it from the link below. AdwCleaner will also check the browsers, registry, Windows folder, and various places where malware might install.

Download AdwCleaner: https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

There is a dedicated website you can use to get instructions on how to remove the application. However, if you encounter any errors while uninstalling, then try using Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.

I paid $25 for My PC Backup. When I go to download it, nothing happens. I've tried all sorts of ways to download still nothing. I think I just got ripped out of my money. I need this particular backup for some work I'm doing.

Is MyPC backup a virus? I don't know how it got onto my computer, but it doesn't seem to be dangerous?

R
Answer by Robert Polubinski

No, the application itself is not a virus, but according to many review websites, the service is known to be avoided because of very expensive features, incorrect info about unlimited storage, data encryption, etc.

If you don't want it on your computer, then use Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.

After that, try running AdwCleaner to make sure that there are no leftover rogue registry keys or toolbars in your system.

AdwCleaner will take care of remaining pop-ups and any other promotional offers.
